Going Bare

I am one beauty junkie.
But I don't think that first thing that attracts me to buying the beauty product is the need for the product but rather the whole experience of browsing and the packaging. During my days in London, I love just spending time at the beauty hall of Selfridges looking at the products. Well truth be told, I love Selfridges so much I could spend all day long there.

But of course the product itself is important. It has to be of good quality, kind to skin etc.

So for many years now that I have been using foundation, one of my favourite liquid foundation is by Precriptives. The colour was customised to my skin tone. What they do is that they will test out all different mixes on your skin. Once settled on the best mix, they will pack it for you. I used to use this way back 9 to 10 years ago (Wow sounds like a long time ago).

I've tried many different foundations as well but what I really wanted now was something that gives a smooth coverage, a flawless look, does not clog your pores but ALSO light and easy.

So one fine day as Hubby and I were walking around in Paradigm Mall, I saw the beauty shop Sephora. I decided to go in and have a look with nothing specific really to buy. Then I decided to check out compact foundations. I checked out a brand which I was quite confident about and I suppose the packaging looked nice and all but the sales lady asked me to try out another brand. It's a powder mineral foundation and to this day, it has to be my favourite one hands down.

It's Bare Minerals.

It's perfect for my daily usage. Even as powder form, it magicallly gives that smooth silky coverage. You could wear it light for daily usage to work etc or add a little more for a night out.

I bought the Get Started Complexion Kit. So the first step is to put on their primer which feels very light on your skin. Next is to use the bare mineral matte with a brush. Then use the mineral veil for finishing and lastly a bit of blush to your cheeks if you want.

The only thing I wish I bought too is a compact mineral veil for touch up as I am always bringing the brush and the round container for even night outs.

Absolutely easy. So ideal for sensitive skin. I felt it was made for me.

Cheeky Munchkin

My little munchkin just had a her bath. She looked fresh and smells good. She smiled at me and then with her cheeky smily slowly reached for my cardigan and decided to clean her ears. This is what we call ..Selambanyeeee!

I said.. "Please put Mummy's cardigan down" and she gave me the 'Haaah.. I'm enjoying cleaning my ears Mummy' look.

Then I said it again .."Nyla, please put Mummy's cardigan down" And she gave me that 'Errr ok Mummy. Give me 2 seconds more' innocent look.

Then as usual, once she is bored of it, she just threw away my poor cardigan and was more interested at the standing fan. Off to the laundry shoot the cardi went..
Nyla was wearing Nagu

Burnt Orange

Wore a burnt orange flare Nana G. skirt with a tucked in tunic jersey white shirt also from Nana G. My lovely leopard print scarf I borrowed it from Ibu :). She kept saying how nice my tudung is

"Nana dapat dari mana?"...
"Hmmm it's yours". While giving her my most angelic smile
"Oh ye ke"

And this is when she will tell Ayah why she needs to shop more. It's because "Nana always take my things so I need to buy more".

Ok the word "take" by the way should be replaced with borrow but I understand her need to exaggerate when she needs an excuse to shop.

It's always fun borrowing things / raid your mom's closet. And one day, Nyla will most likely do the same to me. But as I've learnt from the best.. I will use the same excuse to Hubby too ... :)

Cool Blue

I don't usually dress too casual for work but on this day I decided to wear my blue jeans with a navy blue Nana G. Mai top. My tudung is a printed fabric from my muslimah brand Nafyana
Nyla was wearing her ever so comfy leggings from Mothercare and a lovely vintage print top from Nagu. I love this brand. It's a Japanese brand but I got it from Vietnam
